Rules-
Lap 1: The aircraft is to be loaded with a load (to be provided) of dimension 2cmx2cmx2cm,
Weight: 10gm. It has to takeoff from the runway, clear the Qualification Line, proceed straight to
The Drop Zone, drop the load at the Drop Zone and land at the Landing Zone.
Max. Time: 3min
Lap 2: The aircraft has to takeoff from the runway, clear the Qualification Line, remain within
The Flying Area and perform recognized Aerobatic Maneuvers and proceed to land at the
Landing Zone.
Max. Time : 3min
Lap 3 : The aircraft has to takeoff from the runway, clear the Qualification Line, proceed straight
through the two vertical poles, A & B 6m apart, come back to the runway, for a touch and go
and pass through the poles.... To be repeated as many times possible within the time frame and
then to land at the Landing Zone.

Max. Time: 3min


Judging criteria-
  • Participants must bring their complete Aircrafts for this Event.
  • The Teams are to be present at the Venue before the commencement of the event. Failure to do so will disqualify the Team.
  • The Aircraft should be airworthy and the flier should be capable enough to handle its flight, failure to prove so will disqualify the Team based on Safety of Participants/Spectators.
  • Time of Flight will be taken from the time it starts to roll for takeoff and comes to a halt on touching the Landing Zone.
  • In each Lap, two attempts of Takeoff shall be permitted provided the aircraft did not cross the Qualification Line and no major damage has occurred to it in its failure to takeoff.
  • Performance will be judged on the basis of time of flight, accuracy in dropping, aerobatic maneuvers performed, landing, weight and dimensions of the aircraft.
  • Judges’ decision on any matter of this event will be considered Final.




  
Aero craft specification-
  • There is no limitation of size or weight of aero craft.
  • The Aero craft should be made by participants.
  • Readymade aero craft will not be allowed.
  • Team should have dual frequency remote control.
  • IC engine and electric motor can be used to throat the aero craft.
  • Any light material like PVC card board, IC engine, Fuel, Rf Remote, Thermocol, Balsa wood, Foam etc. can be used to design aero craft.
 
Arena specifications-
  • The arena would be open ground space of university.
  • The Runway is of 18m in length, 2m wide.
  • The Qualification Line is 5m from the end of the runway, the aircraft has to takeoff from the runway and cross the ‘Qualification Line’ to Qualify for a particular Lap.
  • The DropZone is a marked area of 5m in diameter and situated straight ahead, 20m from the end of the runway.
  • The Two Vertical Poles, A & B of 3m height are placed 6m apart from each other, 10m from the end of the runway.
  • The Landing Zone is a marked area of 10m diameter and situated to the right of the Pole B at a distance of 5m.
 
  

Certification- Every individual participant will be awarded certificate of participation and the winners will be awarded prize money and certification of excellence.

Registration-Participants can register online in a team comprising of maximum of Six members. Last date of registration is before 22 February 2012. Every team will be allotted a unique registration id.

Problem Statement- Design an IC Engine or electric motor based Remote controlled aero craft that can cross over an artificial path in air.

Team specifications- Students, both from schools & colleges can participate in this event. the team can be formed by Maximum Six students. The team registration must be done with a unique team name.

  • participants must carry their ID cards at the time of reporting.

  • professionals are not qualified for participation.
